By Small and Simple Things...

Life is flying by so fast! Take every opportunity to cherish what is going on now, because later you might regret those times you didn't enjoy yourself a little. Well, in this last month I have realized how small and simple things can bring you great things or can cause great things, both in life and in the Gospel. 

In The Book of Mormon, there is a verse that I read recently and it explains, "Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise. And the Lord God doth work by means to bring about his great and eternal purposes; and by very small means the Lord doth confound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls." 

While I was working a couple weeks ago, a man pulled through the drive-thru and treated me like we were friends for years. I was super happy for the rest of my shift. Things like that make a difference. That man made my day. Whose day can you make a little better? By small and simple things....days are made! Since that experience, I have tried and will continue to try and pay it forward. Spread that joy that I felt to everyone that I meet.

The Gospel aspect is quite amazing. I have heard countless stories from close friends and members of the Church and they have seen the hand of the Lord performing miracles before their eyes. I haven't witnessed or been a part of a great miracle yet, but at the same time I feel that I have. Every time I have needed something, and it is a righteous desire, it is answered through prayer. Each and every time. To me that is a miracle. 

Through my spreading of the Gospel, I have not had huge success, but I know that my attempts to share it with my friends will not be in vain. They just are not ready for the Gospel yet. There will come a time where they pull out that Book of Mormon I had given them twenty years earlier. And I know that the same goes for all of our efforts. Don't ever suppress a chance to share the light of Christ that is inside of you. I would just like to conclude with my testimony that I know that miracles happen every day and it is not of man, but they are of God. I know that if we fast and pray for our friends that they will accept the Gospel. And I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
