Scripture of the Day! (New Testament)

Joshua 1:9 "Be strong and of good courage, be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed, for the Lord thy God is with thee, whithersoever thou goest."

- I love this scripture!!!! It just gives you a feeling of peace. God is always watching over you. Even when you think he isn't. So be strong! He doesn't give you anything that you can't handle!

Youth Conference!

Well, I went to Youth Conference this past weekend and had a GREAT time. The spirit was so strong there and I made a lot of new friends. I strengthened my testimony of Jesus Christ and in His atonement. We had the amazing opportunity of hearing Sister Elaine S. Dalton (Young Women's General President), come to speak to us! She challenged us to become P.R.O.S. in our everyday lives. The P stands for praying to our Father in Heaven every morning and night. The R stands for reading our scriptures everyday for at least 5 minutes. The O is obedience to the Lord's commandments. And the S stands for smiling! She said that these are the few things in life that we can be 100% on in life. I am going to try to do this everyday. And I know if we listen to Sister Dalton's counsel and become P.R.O.S. in our everyday lives, we will be happy and our testimonies will grow. And I say that in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

The Time to Repent is NOW.

Recently, I have been reading the book: The Miracle of Forgiveness, by President Spencer W. Kimball. I am loving this book so far because of the wisdom that he shares with everyone of the great blessing of The Atonement. It is so true! The Lord is there for us, even if we don't realize it. He says: "If heeded, this member of the Godhead will guide, inspire, and warn, and will neutralize the promptings of the evil one" (D&C 84:64). I wish I could just quote this whole book it is so good. President Kimball also warns the daners of delaying repentance from the words of Melvin J. Ballard. "It is much easier to overcome and serve the Lord when both flesh and spirit are combined as one. . .every man and woman who is putting off until the next life the task of correcting and overcoming the weaknesses of the flesh are sentencing themselves to years of bondage."Kimball ends the chapter by giving us a tip, "The time to quit evil ways is before they start." And I agree with that statement, along with all of the quotes above. And his whole book. I am learning a lot. I hope that all of us may repent quickly in this life so we can escape the "years of bondage" that could lie ahead fo us. I know that Jesus Christ died on the cross for each and every one of us. And that He loves us dearly and wants us to return to Him again. And I say these things in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.

P.S. Here are some additional, GREAT scriptural references that Kimball pointed out:
- Helaman 13:38
- Mosiah 2:38
- Alma 34:31-34
- D&C 132:20

We are in Enemy Territory

In this video it demonstrates that all of us really are in Enemy Territory. We must always have the Spirit with us so we can heed his promptings so we will be protected from the clutches of the adversary. President Boyd K. Packer says: “You young people are being raised in enemy territory, but I promise you will be protected and shielded from the attacks of the adversary if you will heed the promptings that come from the Holy Ghost.” It is that simple. To have the spirit with us we must read the scriptures daily and strive to be like Christ everyday. Only then can we have the Spirit with us to help us with the trials and challenges of our everyday living.

Have you ever ignored a prompting and then you realize you should have listened to it? I know I have. I have learned from those many experiences that I should not question when I hear a prompting. Just do it. And I challenge all of us to implement that mindset into our everyday lives. JUST DO IT. I know that as we do this we will be happy and always have the Spirit to be with us; and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

P.S. Has there been a time in your life when listening to the promptings of the Spirit has protected you? Share your experience below.
